Nakisha Jones

Director of Employer Engagement

Nakisha Jones is a proud graduate of New Haven’s James Hillhouse High School here in the city of New Haven. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in History from Sacred Heart University and a Master’s Degree in Political Science and Public Administration from Southern Connecticut State University. Most recently, in 2021, Nakisha earned her MBA with a concentration in Organizational Leadership from Post University.

Nakisha saw New Haven Works’ commitment to city residents first hand when she joined New Haven Works as a member in 2013 as a way to expand her career opportunities. In 2014, Nakisha joined the New Haven Works team as a Job Coach and was quickly promoted to the Staff and Program Manager, a position she held for over five years. In 2020, Nakisha was promoted to the role of Director of Employer Engagement where she interacts with employers all throughout the region to promote New Haven Works and refer qualified candidates to current and potential job opportunities.

Nakisha has been committed to the New Haven community and has personally assisted over 300 New Haven residents with job placements. Nakisha is passionate about New Haven Works’ mission because it directly affects the community in which she was raised and still currently resides with her family.
